Riding a twist-and-go moped for five years I found it quite difficult to operate a manual motorbike correctly. With the help of the instructors at ASM I became a confident rider in no time due to their patient but progressive course and excellent teaching methods. When I passed my Module 2 first time with one minor, I was quite pleased. The equipment available was in good condition, there were no problems with the motorbikes provided. I found ASM through a recommendation from a good buddy. I have been riding bigger bikes (1000-1350cc) for 9 years in Asia but required a UK licence and decided to take the DAS through ASM. The recommendation was well founded. Chris was an excellent instructor and diligently set to correct any bad habits that I had gained over the years. Ultimately my immediate goal was to gain the piece of paper that would say I can ride a bike legally in the UK, but I gained so very much more. The training center was very well laid out with adequate space. The bike that I was on and the others from what I saw were all in superb condition. In all, I could not have asked for any more from the training or the facilities. Not only did the days fly by with fun and tips but it had me thinking how I had got away without injuring myself in the past. Even as a fairly experienced rider I learned so much that it allowed me to breeze the bike test but also inspire me to go on to take further advanced training. I have no experience of any other center but would not need to from now on. ASM cannot be recommended highly enough and I'll certainly be using them for annual refresher rides after the winter. If you are looking for great training, a confident start and the best possibility of a first time pass then do not hesitate to contact Rob or Chris at ASM!

Starting off with the CBT I was taken through the DAS course and eventually passed both Mod 1 and Mod 2 first time. All I can say is thanks a lot to Tim, Chris and Rob!

After researching into all the local training schools (some of which who displayed an undesirable attitude) I was delighted to find Rob and Chris who are a couple of intelligent open minded bikers who were willing to teach me the skills you need to survive on the roads, and even pass the DSA tests first time. ASM provided everything: bikes, helmet, gloves, jackets, radios and constructive conversation. I found the CBT informative and the MOD1 and MOD2 training to be fully comprehensive. If you display any bad habits governed by years of inappropriate driving, these guys will sacrifice their mornings and weekends to correct them. I highly recommend ASM for DAS training and having a laugh simultaneously.Thanks for all your support Rob and I hope to see you guys in the future for a ride out.

I would highly recommend Academy of Safe Motorcycling if you are considering undertaking any form of motorcycle tuition. I passed the motorcycle Module 1 and Module 2 tests first time, however I definitely would not have achieved this without the support, advice and excellent tuition that Rob, Chris and Tim gave me. The attention to detail is second to none. They all took a real interest in me and are very thorough and experienced instructors who have an excellent understanding and delivered first class motorcycle training. Academy of Safe Motorcycling are a professional team of instructors who are there to get you through your training whether you have been riding bikes for a while or a complete beginner like myself. Not only did I learn how to ride a motorcycle for the first time with Rob and his colleague Chris, I also gained the confidence to pass my Module 1 test first time and my Module 2 test first time with only 1 minor fault. This is all thanks to the superb tuition carried out by Rob Booth and Chris. These guys make you feel very welcome from day 1 and are very approachable. The first day I started my training I didn’t know what to expect and was very nervous at first but after we all got talking and got on the bikes the nerves disappeared. You made it very easy to learn and gave me the support I needed, helping me with everything that I needed to work on. This is credit to the training they gave me and the skills I learnt, along with making my training a very enjoyable experience. I was able to learn the test  manoeuvres and then practice them to a high level of competence so that I was completely ready for the module 1 test. Any test is tense enough to take, however with the training and approach provided I was fully prepared and a lot more settled for the task. Great work guys!

After being away from motorcycling for a decade, Rob, Chris and Tim got me back on the road and through both modules first time! As well as being fun, the approach was professional from all the guys and the protective clothing and bikes were comfortable and reliable, from CBT on to DAS. I would highly recommend Academy of Safe Motorcycling. Rob Booth runs a professional school whose training surpasses the requirements of both the Module 1 and Module 2 tests. I had a great time with Rob, Chris and Tim both on and off the bike. The Kawasaki ER5 500c bike that ASM use is an ideal bike to train on and introduces you nicely to the big bike world. A refreshing blend of professionalism on a bike and irreverence off. Mind numbing patience in the face of appalling odds. I'm an old dog and thanks to Rob and Chris I have learnt new tricks. Thanks to their diligence, technique, and training facilities, I managed first time passes in both module 1 and the module 2 tests (with a couple of minors - where the examiner was obviously at fault) after 25 years out of the saddle. If you just want to pass the test, look elsewhere, if you want to do it properly, look no further. All up I'll give them 10/10 - they'll get 11 when they master the art of brutal criticism (well it spurs me on anyway...).

Passing ‘first time’ is a bloke thing. No one knows why it matters so much, but it does! Luckily, if you choose ASM and you put the effort in, then you can definitely tick this box.  In the opening brief of the DAS course Rob declares, “Listen to what I say, ride like you mean it, and with the exception of doing something daft on the day, you will pass.  He was absolutely right.  Whilst training with ASM, I feel I have learnt how to ride safely and have been given the correct foundations with which to develop my riding career.  Thanks Rob and Chris for the training and the laughs. ASM is truly a school unlike any other!

I was recommended ASM by a friend. The training I received from Rob and Chris was 1st class and I enjoyed every minute of it! I did my module 1 training with them and then onto module 2 training. Their Module 1 off-road training course is exactly like the real thing, which not only enabled me to practice each manoeuvre and do a mock test, but also I knew exactly what to expect for the real test which helped my nerves. I went on to do module 2 training and found it extremely fun & relaxed and I learnt a lot. Due to of the excellent standard of training from Rob and Chris I passed both module 1 & 2 first time! If you're old enough to do it and you can afford it, the DAS route is the one to take, even if you only intend to ride on a smaller bike once you've ditched those L plates.  The 500cc DAS bikes are NOT too much to handle for a newbie to motorcycling and in fact it comes somewhat as a relief to get onto one after learning the absolute basics on a 125.  Now, this is no picnic, especially for someone who can barely remember their twenties but be assured that Rob will make this experience one of the most enjoyable things that you will do. I am so pleased that I chose to learn with ASM. It's been such good value for money in terms of both cost and entertainment - and I came out of it with a first time pass too! I would like to say a big thanks to Rob and Chris for the excellent training I received from ASM. I took my CBT and went straight on to do my DAS. Due to the very high level of tuition I received I passed first time. The bikes and equipment supplied were of a very high standard and I can't fault any of it.  The training was done in stages, building confidence along the way and only moving on when you are ready. It was all done at a nice pace with lots of banter and laughs thrown in to make it a highly enjoyable experience.  If you’re unsure whether it’s right for you, just do it, you won’t regret it.  I highly recommend ASM to anyone who wants to learn how to ride safely and pass their test!

I have Just passed my direct access first time and would like to say a big thank you to Chris and Rob for their professional and friendly instruction. I was trained to a very high standard, not just to pass the tests but to give me the extra skills needed for safe riding. Every aspect of my training was built up in stages to make sure I was OK before going out on the road, which helped to build my confidence and stopped me getting overwhelmed. The instruction through the earpiece while on the road was calm and clear and helped greatly. As Rob says "concentrate and listen to the instruction and you'll do well".
